Campus Crusades

So, most of my friends at Duke are from Campus Crusades. They’re all amazing and they love Jesus, what more could I ask for? Seriously, I am so blessed. I love them. This weekend we went on a fall retreat and I just got to spend time worshipping God with my closest friends at Duke. It’s amazing how comfortable we’ve become so quickly. Next weekend is fall break and it couldn’t come at a better time. I have two midterms and a paper due this week. It’s going to be crazy and I’m going to be really tired. It’ll be good to have a few days to go home and relax!

Home and DMB

Last weekend I went home. It was so fun. As much as I love Duke, Pinehurst will always be home. I hung out with Melissa and Mark a lot. Mark left Monday to do mission work in Sweden, so I was really glad I got to hang out with him before he left. I loved seeing my parents! They’re the greatest! I got to go to Wyldlife on Friday. I love Wyldlife. I love the kids. I love leading. It’s one of my passions, so I really enjoyed getting to go to the first club of the year! Last night I went to the Dave Matthews concert with some of my friends from here! It was so fun! Dave put on a great show, of course, I mean, it’s Dave Matthews. I somehow ran into my parents afterward, which was surprising since there were tons of people there. I love concerts!

brother, you need to show me how to put pictures on this thing! i love you!

Sarah’s visit!

So at the end of June one of my best friends from high school, Sarah Lieswald, and her family moved to Kansas and Sarah goes to school in Nebraska. She came to North Carolina this weekend and a bunch of us spent the weekend at Wake Forest with her! It was so fun. I loved seeing her and so many of my friends from high school. Great weekend!

High School Friends

So now that I am in college I really see how blessed I was with my friends in high school. Seriously, they don’t get any better than mine. So, while I’m so pumped about making new friends at duke (and love the ones I’ve already made), I am going to do everything I can to remain close with my friends from high school. I love that Duke and UNC do their college life for Young Life together. This means every Tuesday I get to see Jenna Barto, Sarah Wilkison and others. I love that the majority of my friends go to schools in the triangle. It’s so easy to run up to UNC or spend an evening at NC State. In fact, I went to The Format concert on Sunday in Chapel Hill and tonight I went up to State just to hang out. I love my friends. God could not have put better people in my life.
So, brother (since this site is largely for you right now), I visited my best friends tonight. It was great!

First Day of College

So today was my first day of college. I had Spanish 2 first, Stats 10 and then a Political Science class. I have my writing 20 class, Jesus in America, tomorrow. The classes seem pretty good. I’m excited.
I went to The Format concert last night with a bunch of my high school friends. It was amazing. Ridiculously hot, but amazing. I didn’t get home until 1:40 and had to be in class at 8:45. But hey, I’m a college student, that’s how our schedules are supposed to work.
I love Duke. I love the school. I love the people. I love being here.
I am so blessed
